MARCH 2020
Wild Mare Ward Members,
Two Wednesdays ago, I had the opportunity to attend the family search building in Heber with our Teachers quorum. What a great experience. There were not any earth-shattering moments or circumstances. However, I observed and was able to participate with some of our faithful ward members working with our youth to give them a foundation of family history work and the temple ordinances that follow. It was fulfilling to see our youth get on the computer, with an adult at their side, and navigate their personal family heritage. They looked at famous relatives, compared linage, were instructed on preparing names to take to the temple and ultimately treated to an ice cream by Brother Brian Myers. Why do I share this experience? Simplicity. As I reflect, many of the strongest testimony-building experiences that I have had in my life start with the small and simple things, Prayer, partaking of the sacrament, small and compassionate acts of service, family time, scripture study, etc. Two weeks ago, watching our youth engaged in family history and temple preparedness for a few minutes reaffirmed to me the sacred nature of the small and simple things.
My favorite President Gordon B, Hinckley quote states: "It isn’t as bad as you sometimes think it is. It all works out in the end. Put your trust in God, and move forward with faith and confidence in the future. The Lord will not forsake us, he will not forsake us. If we will put our trust in him, live worthy of his blessings, he will hear our prayers." President Hinckley promises that if we have faith, trust, pray, and live worthy, all will work out. Again, small and simple things equip us to build our testimonies and be filled with the Spirit.

Dear Brethren,
In preparation for the upcoming General Conference it might be useful for the fathers in our quorum to spend some time with your children talking to them about the Prophet Joseph Smith and the vision he had in the Sacred Grove of God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. These discussions and your encouragement for them to look forward to General Conference might make this bi-centennial celebration more understandable. Obviously this is a once in a lifetime experience for them as well as all of us. May you be blessed and inspired in your role as parents of this upcoming generation that has so much promise.
Brother Nadauld
Sisters,
We have been asked to sing in sacrament “As Sisters in Zion” on March 8th. All Relief Society sisters will be handed the music when you come to sacrament that day. Our strength will be in our numbers. Please come up to sing a song that reminds us of the Restoration.
My son Isaac is serving a mission in Japan. I got a letter from his mission president and because of coronavirus they are not allowed to meet for meetings or proselyte in public. They can leave their apartment for food and supplies and to exercise. All of their contacting will be done online. The nurse in me feels prompted to help you be prepared.
A good practice is to see if you have at home what you’d need if you didn’t go to the store for 2 weeks. Check to see if you have non-perishables that you frequently use in your pantry. Good examples for if you are sick are chicken or vegetable broth, crackers, electrolyte drinks or powder (like Gatorade), rice and frozen bananas.
Bleach or alcohol wipes and soap and water are effective for cleaning hard surfaces.
Get the whole family in the habit of washing hands as soon as they walk in the door.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth.
Throw out used tissues.
Cough into your elbow and then wash your hands.
Check your supply of medications and have acetaminophen and Ibuprofen in stock at home.
If you have any questions feel free to contact me. We will continue to pray for those affected by this.
Love, Sister Mylissa Graham

In the month of March, we are working on Article of Faith number 10. Number 10 can be a tricky one for children to learn because it is long and has some difficult words. A couple of ways you can help your child learn it are: making a goal to repeat it together at bedtime every night, listening to the A of F #10 song, and helping them understand what it means. Memorizing all 13 would be a wonderful spiritual goal for them to complete.
The children who have memorized all 13 are: Cora Shelton, Cici Omer, Isabelle Stubbs, Davis Sampson, Walker Watt
Encourage them to bring scriptures to church. The record in senior primary is 32 and in junior is 15.
The songs we will be working on this year for our primary program in the last quarter of the year are:
The Iron Rod- Hymn # 274
Nephi's Courage- Children's Songbook #146
I Feel My Savior's Love- CS #74
Love One Another- CS #136
I Will Be Valiant- CS #162
We'll Bring the World His Truth- CS #172
As I Search the Holy Scriptures- Hymn #277
Follow the Prophet- CS #110
Families Can Be Together Forever- CS# 188
Jesus Said Love Everyone- CS #61
Search, Ponder, and Pray- CS #109
He sent His Son- CS# 34
Singing these songs at home and in the car will help the children learn the music and will bring the spirit into your home!
Last, if your child has been assigned the talk or Article of Faith in Primary, please help them to be prepared and familiar with it by going over it with them during the week. The younger children (especially the ones who can't read yet) may need your help to give their talk or A of F.
We absolutely adore your children and the sweet spirits they have. We are blessed to be with them every Sunday!
*Reminder: The Gospel Doctrine classes are split up by last name, with A-O meeting in the Relief Society room and P-Z in the room by the Kitchen. These class assignments are not mandatory, by any means, but simply a way to ensure we have room for everyone to attend a Sunday School class.
March Lesson Schedule:
March 1 - 2 Nephi 26-30 — “A Marvelous Work and a Wonder”
March 15 - Jacob 1-4 — “Be Reconciled unto God through the Atonement of Christ”
Elder L. Tom Perry taught: “We need to take Jacob’s counsel to heart. We should read this scripture as though it were written expressly for us in these days, because it was. His words should cause us to ask soul-searching questions of ourselves. Is the order of things right in our own lives? Are we investing, first and foremost, in the things that are eternal in nature? Do we have an eternal perspective? Or have we fallen into the trap of investing in the things of this world first and then forgetting the Lord?” (“United in Building the Kingdom of God,” Ensign, May 1987, 34).
As we contemplate how to better share the message of the gospel, remember, we are not alone; Heavenly Father has promised to be by our sides and help us find connections with our families, friends and neighbors. "And Christ hath said: if ye will have faith in me, ye shall have power to do whatsoever thing is expedient in me."
Moroni 7:33!
RS temple day will be Wednesday, March 11, meet at Deanna Mahoney's house at 8:45 am.
Ward temple night is Tuesday, March 17. We'll be doing sealing sessions at 5:30, 6:00 & 6:30 pm. Sign up sheets will be circulating. Youth are welcome to come do baptisms with their parents. Sign up on the sheets so we can give the temple a heads up.
